Floating Method
⦁ Float the bag in the aquarium for 15 – 20 mins. Away from bright light. This is temperature acclimation.
⦁ Open the bag.
⦁ Add 50ml of aquarium water to the bag while still floating.
⦁ Repeat this step every 5 mins for 4/5 times until the shipping bag is full.
⦁ Take the bag out and net the fish/ aquatic organism in to the tank.
*DO NOT RELEASE SHIPPING WATER TO THE AQUARIUM
Drip Method
acclimate water temperature by floating the bag in the aquarium for 15 – 20 mins.
⦁ Empty the contents of the bag into a bucket, including the water.
*DO NOT EXPOSE SENSITIVE INVERTEBRATES INTO THE AIR
⦁ Using an airline tubing, drip water from the aquarium to the bucket.
⦁ When the volume of the bucket doubles or after 20 – 30 mins, you can transfer animals to the tank.
Invertebrates and plants are more sensitive than fish, hence may need longer acclimation time. i.e. Shrimp (45 minutes or more) and do not acclimate fish and inverts in the same bucket.
*Acclimation should not take more than 90 minutes*
